Location:

Da Nang is located in the middle of central Vietnam, 759km from Hanoi and 960km from Ho Chi Minh City. Da Nang borders Thua Thien-Hue Province in the north, Quang Nam Province in the south and the west, and the Eastern Sea in the east with 150 km of seacoast.
Situated on the 1,500 km World Heritage Road of central Vietnam, from Da Nang, traveling along Highway 1A, visitors can easily and conveniently access to the four of five UNESCO-designated World Heritage Sites in Vietnam including of Phong Nha-Ke Bang national park, Hue ancient citadel, Hoi An ancient town and My Son holly land.
Weather and climate:
Da Nang is in a typical tropical monsoon zone with high temperature and equable climate. The city’s weather is a combination of climatic features of northern and southern Vietnam, with the northern having the more distinct influence. There are two seasons. The wet season lasts from August to December and the dry from January to July. Cold spells are occasional in winter but they are not severe and are short.
The annual average temperature is 25.9oC. The highest temperature is 28-30oC in the months of June, July and August. The lowest is 18-23oC in December, January and February. 1,500-meter-high Mountain Ba Na has an average temperature of 20oC. Average rainfall is 2,505mm per year that concentrates during October and November.
Transportation:
- Highways: Da Nang is 108 km from Hue, 130 km from Quang Ngai, 763 km from Hanoi, and 947 km from Ho Chi Minh City. The national highway 1A crosses the city. From Da Nang, visitor can easily reach other destinations by overland transfer.
- Airways: The Da Nang International Airport is 2.5km south-west of the city center. There are domestic flights to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, Buon Ma Thuot and Pleiku.
- Railways: Thong Nhat Express train, which connects Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, stop in Danang.
- Waterways: There are marine routes to international and domestic ports. Tien Sa and Han River ports are located in a very wonderful position.
Tourism:
On regional and international scale, Da Nang is considered one of the important gateways to the sea of the central Highlands of Vietnam, and Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar and Northeast Asian nations via the East-West Economic Corridor linking Tien Sa Seaport as an end point. Situated in one of the international sea and air routes, Da Nang City has a very advantageous geographic location for quick and sustainable socio-economic development.
Da Nang is an ancient land, closely related with the Sa Huynh cultural traditions. Many imposing, palaces, towers, temples, citadels and ramparts, the vestiges from 1st to 13th century are still to be seen in Cham Museum.
Da Nang has other various interesting attractions as Ba Na Tourist Resort, Hai Van Pass, Ngu Hanh Son (Marble Mountains), Non Nuoc stone carving village as well as the Linh Ung Pagoda, Han River. Da Nang boasts many beautiful beaches stretching on dozens of kilometers such as Son Tra Beach, Non Nuoc Beach, My Khe Beach and Bac My An Beach.
