Although not a strange destination, Da Lat still lured many visitors who go to Da Lat once and then want to return forever. Da Lat is in Lam Dong Province, 307 km from Saigon and about 1,400 km from Hanoi, so you can choose a lot of transportation for your trip in Dalat.
– Aircraft: airlines always operate flights from three major cities departing to Lien Khuong airport – Da Lat daily, only 1 hour from Saigon, 1 hour 50 minutes from Hanoi and 1 hour 10 Minutes from Danang. Airport is 31 km away from the city center, depending on needs you can take a taxi or bus to enter the city.
– Passenger car: In Saigon, you can choose Thanh Buoi, Phuong Trang, Thesinhcafe … to move Sai Gon – Dalat with the price of 189-210,000 VND / person / way. In addition, some limousine firms with good quality and good service will help you to move like Minh Tri Limousine with ticket price: 250,000 VND / ticket. From Hanoi, there are car companies such as Thu Minh, Tai Thang … with the price of 600-700,000 VND / person / way. In Da Nang, you can choose Phuong Trang (265,000 dong / person / way) or Thanh Thuy (260,000 dong / person / way).
– Motorbike: With you choose to go by motorbike, from Saigon just go to Hanoi Highway – Highway 1A to Dau Giay intersection turn left into Highway 20, from here you just follow this highway to Da Lat. On the way you have to pass through Bao Loc Pass and Prenn Pass, because of the winding and folding carriageway, there are many large vehicles, so you need to pay attention to the steering wheel, watch carefully at the fall.
To get to Dalat, you should book a day in advance, we choose Thanh Buoi car picking up guests at Van Thanh station (586 Dien Bien Phu, Ward 22, Binh Thanh District). You should have 30-45 minutes before the car departure to receive the seat number.
Depart from 10h30 (Friday night) to 4h30 (Saturday morning). The car will transfer team to the hotel which was booked before, due to early sun so the host is very cute arranged resting place to check-in in the morning.
Day 1 (Saturday): Truc Lam Zen Monastery – Tuyen Lam Lake – Clay Tunnel – Chicken Church – Da Lat Train Station – Pedagogical College.
6:00 am: get up and prepare things. We rent a car for 100,000 VND per day.
7h00: enjoy the hot Can cake at Cay Bo restaurant (56 Tang Bat Ho).
8:00: refuel and straight to Truc Lam Zen Monastery. Follow the Trieu Viet Vuong route across the Palace III and Tran Nhan Tong streets, as we are attracted to the eye by the nursery valley below.
9h30: Visit the first place: Truc Lam Zen Monastery. Located on Mount Phung Hoang, this place is covered with pine trees and is always a place for those who go sightseeing.
From the monastery down to the Marina, there are small huts and stone chairs for you to rest and sightseeing Tuyen Lam Lake. The soaring pines and other plants are always the ideal shooting spot for those who want a new fresh natural landscape.
11h00: We get our car and change to the clay tunnel 9.2 km away from the Monastery. Bow along the Tuyen Lam Lake with one side of the cliff, quite beautiful and attractive.
12h00: After buying a gate ticket (40,000 VND / person), the first time we arrived at the Clay Tunnel (also called the Sculpture Tunnel), we felt quite interesting here: All structure are made of clay reproduced the famous places in Da Lat such as Chicken Church, Da Lat Station, Bao Dai Palace… A special thing when stepping into the interior of this tunnel is the hydrangeas garden, so tourists can take pictures of sparkling flowers.
13h15: continue to return to visit the Church Chicken on Tran Phu. Nha Chung street which is next to the church is one of the eating paths with a lot of eateries from main dishes to snacks, free for you to explore.
15h00: Leave the church by Tran Quoc Toan through poetic Xuan Huong Lake, to Yersin – Nguyen Trai Street to Da Lat Station. The station has an ancient architecture built in French times in 1932, making any visitor here impressive. Because Dalat is located at an altitude of 1,500 meters above sea level, Da Lat station is considered the highest railway station in Vietnam. Here you can experience the purchase of train tickets with a 7 km stretch through Trai Mat’s nursery.
16h00: the last destination of the day – The Teacher’s College is located on Yersin Road just 1.2 km from the station.
In the evening, the school scene is quiet, the impressive building is a curved, 54 meter-high bell tower that sinks into the sun. Walking through the halls on the campus, the group remembers the old school in Saigon such as Marie Curie or Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School.
17h00: The hunger began to come, we returned to find the number 1A / 1 Thong Thien Hoc street to enjoy the bowl of Banh uot long ga.
19h00: stroll in Lam Vien Square. The highlight of the square is the art of flowering cotton flower and flower buds, designed with colored glass to create artistic space typical of Da Lat.
Next we come to Da Lat market. Saturday evening market with lots of busy trading activities, markets like a food paradise, warm clothes, accessories … make us look tilted not to miss the sidewalk.
Walk to the Soybean Milk Dairy at 64 Tang Bat, the group sip cup of hot soy milk costs only 6,000 VND with some cakes. Come to Homy, I also did not forget to book tickets for group at 14h00 Sunday departuring to Saigon.
Day 2 (Sunday): Linh Phuoc Pagoda – Cau Dat Tea Hill – Strawberry Garden
6:00: arrange and send at Homy.
7:00: have breakfast at a shop on The Thong Thien Hoc Road: An extra bowl of pork skin with 2 breads.
7h30: only 20 minutes from downtown Da Lat group follow the road Suong Nguyet Anh – Nguyen Dinh Chieu – Tran Quy Cap – Highway 20 go straight to Linh Phuoc pagoda. Visiting Linh Phuoc Pagoda, also known as Ve Chai Pagoda – the temple set 11 records with unique architecture from pieces of porcelain and bottle fragments that make the group surprised because they are meticulously.
Few know that the bottom of the Bell Tower is a place to display valuable antiques from tens of millions to hundreds of millions of talented hands from many sculptors. In addition, the same basement also exhibits the Jade Buddha statue and other monks also. The “18 levels of hell” in the second basement is for those of you who like to explore and learn the kinds of punishment for sinful souls.
Up to the altar 324 statue Quan The Son at the height of 3.7 m, “highlight” is a statue in the 17 m high power center established the statue Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara with the highest reinforced concrete in Vietnam.
9h00: On the same route National Highway 20 from Linh Phuoc Pagoda to Cau Dat Hill just 15.2 km, we go again through a passage overflowing pine forest, look far away you can see vegetables garden of the households paste. Pass over the pass for another 2 km to the tea plantation on the left.
We leave the car in a vacant lot then enjoy the photo shoot, if you like to go higher where the cafeteria coffee shop full of tea, then run to the next.
10h30: We go back to find the “strawberry garden”. If you do not have much time to the mulberry garden, this is an interesting suggestion for you. The “strawberry road” on the Nguyen Cong Tru road has many strawberry growers in the orchard and is ready for sale or production. Strawberries here are available at different rates such as 80,000 VND / box / kg or 60,000 VND / box / half kg (depending on the type of berries and depending on the time).
12h00: We get back to motorbike and get ID card then go to lunch with Banh uot long ga.
13h00: Thanh Buoi transfer car pick up at the meeting point and at 14h00 get in the car to come back Saigon. End 2 days 1 night escaping in Da Lat. We will have a chance to come back to discover Dalat with new levels and emotions.
