This costume is often worn with a “khan dong vanh” which is a fabric crown-like headgear made of silk brocade and is also called a “khan hoang hau” (translated as queen’s kerchief or queen’s scarf). This style of the Nguyễn Dynasty royal clothes has remained popular and is still used in modern Vietnamese wedding ceremony in which the bribe wears this gown in red or pink, and the groom wears a simpler male equivalent of the dress, often in blue color.
